Nose damage (and how
to reduce it with little or no cost)
-
With the advent of shorter
and more fragile
boards, most nose
damage is now
caused
by the mast hitting the board,
not the boom.
-
Your mast will
also suffer invisible impact damage with this type of incident,
then at a later date it could well break for no apparent reason.

How to avoid
nose damage
|
- A few years ago
we all had a “Mast-foot Protector” but they went out of fashion because
most sails now have built in padding at the foot.
- Most of us have
an old mast foot protector knocking around somewhere. Now you can re-name
these to
“Nose Protectors”.
