River Thames Licence details:
As the Summer Sizzler will be held on the
River Thames, all craft including Stand Up Boards
must have a Thames Licence to paddle their boards on
the Thames. (one licence per paddler)
Exceptions:
British Canoe Union Members
will already have a full British Waterways licence.
You may already have a Thames Licence
The Environment Agency charge £7 for a River
Thames Day Licence.
Blue Chip will be subsidising
this by 50%, therefore, the charge for the Day Licence for
the Summer Sizzler Event will only be £3.50.
The races will include the
"Battle of the Thames"
From
Kingston Bridge, past the
stunning Hampton Court Palace, turning under the
Hampton Court Bridge and back past the
Palace,
through the Ditton Island cut and
past Surbiton before turning
once more at
the Queen's
Promenade,
heading back up stream towards Ravens Ait
for the
finish at the Thames Sailing Club.

He can also paddle a
board on dry land
With so many skills to draw on, we have asked
Steve to be our Race Director for this event.
The races will include the: "Battle of the Thames" AKA "2 Bridges Race"
From Kingston Bridge, past the stunning Hampton Court Palace, turning under the Hampton Court Bridge and back past the Palace, Ditton Island and Surbiton before turning once more at the Queen's Promenade, heading towards Ravens Ait for the finish at the Thames Sailing Club.

We will also be staging the second
"Thames Leveller Sprint Challenge", same format
as last year, we will be laying a 150 metre course on the
Thames along side the Town centre and Kingston
Bridge and we will be running 5 paddlers racing
against each other with the first 2 going on to the
next round and so on to find the winner.
