- Line up the deck pad about one hand width
from the leash plug, this may differ from board
to board so take the overall look of the
position before you start, once stuck down, it's
there..!
Tip: Put some masking tape on the rail of
the board to make the approximate location of
the centre handle, this will save time later)
- Once you are happy with the position, use
masking tape to anchor the pad in the required
position so that it does not move out of
position as you adhere the pad to the deck.
- Now remove the rear tape (only the rear
tape) and start to peal off the waxed backing
sheet from the tail of the pad taking care not
to let the adhesive side of the pad come into
contact with anything until you are ready to
start laying the pad onto the deck.
- Now fold back the waxed sheet at an angle to
one side at the same time holding the deck pad
in place without it contacting the board yet.
- Now with your forward hand, put pressure on
the deck pad ( the part with the waxed sheet
still in place) and now bring the tail of the
pad into contact with the board, then pres
firmly into place and make sure all of the
exposed adhesive is now in contact with the
board.
- Now remove another masking tape anchor on
the same side and then gently pull back the
waxed sheet towards the front and pressure the
pad to the deck as you go
- continue in the same manor to as you
progress towards the front of the pad
- Remover the top masking tape anchor and
continue to remove the wax sheet pressuring the
deck pad onto the board as to progress towards
the tip of the pad.
- Make sure that the waxed sheet is whole and
complete so that non has accidently torn and
remained on the pad before you apply full
pressure to the pad.
- Remove the final end of the waxed sheet and
press the pad firmly into place.
- Now time to locate the centre handle.
- With a sharp knife, carefully cut into the
centre handle void. cut close to the edge of the
handle void.
- Continue the cut all the way around the
handle void
- Remove the unwanted EVA.
Tip: chamfer the edge of the EVA centre
handle to avoid the EVA lifting with use.
