Drops Windsurfing Boards
Blue Chip is pleased to bring back to the UK one
of the most sought-after board brands in Europe.

Drops Boards was created over 20 years ago, when it's founder and main man, Mario Vinti understood that there was a great potential and passion behind the sport that had not yet fully developed. That is how Mario first started shaping boards in his garage, with DIY methods and tools, and then step by step became the shaper that we all know and admire. Ever since, thanks to Mario's ability and tenacity, Drops has grown enormously and become the symbol of quality, technology and innovation. Every day Mario and the team attempt to communicate their philosophy. Drops are absolutely determined in achieving their goal, because being a step ahead requires dedication and a quest for excellence without any form of compromise.

Drops are not satisfied with following the latest trends, they prefer to set them. Often Drops have succeeded in understanding, well before their opponents, what windsurfers from around the world wanted, and so year after year, prototype after prototype, Drops have always found the best solution.

Thanks to all the "drops" that fill the
oceans of this planet with joy.

Drops CNC Construction
Drops uses leading edge CNC Milling techniques to produce one of the best balanced windsurfing boards in production with their unique and unequalled durability of their stepless variable thickness glass, carbon and Kevlar sandwich construction. €

CNC Milling Technology; linked to off-line CAD CAM control can produce the most accurate 3D shapes presently available. CNC milling is used in the most advanced Aerospace and Marine Engineering industries and now also by Drops to create the main core and Drops unique variable thickness sandwich. Each board has its own unique variable thickness sandwich criteria along with its individual lay-ups of glass, carbon and Kevlar which makes for the ultimate combination of design faithfulness, lightness and strength.

Specific Reinforcements; these are positioned in the most stressed areas such as around the mast rail, finbox and footstraps as well as those areas, such as the bow, which risks being damaged by blows from the mast or boom. special attention has been paid to the finboxes which are all connected both to the hull and the deck through a high density PVC block

Fittings and Accessories; using the best materials to obtain a light and bombproof construction is worth nothing unless the fittings and accessories meet the same exacting standards, this is why Drops boards are supplied with the best accessories on the market. Heavy Duty foot pads provide extra protection to the board in a critical area and also give the surfer a more comfortable ride and softer landings from jumps.

The voice of experience; 27 year of supplying and repairing windsurfing boards has given us a unique insight into how boards are constructed. It is with this knowledge that we confidently choose to stock the board we do. Our knowledge of board construction in the retail industry is second to none and we can help you make an informed decision regarding your next board.
